Acaste is the ghoul-queen of the Dead Nations. Surprisingly intelligent and articulate for a ghoul, she rules over her flesh-eating "Blighted Ones", seeing them as her children.

Acaste has a little information to tell about her society. Constantly hungry as her kind are, she disapproves of the Silent King, who she views as weak and would like to defeat one day. That is because she and her ghouls aren't allowed to feed freely in the Dead Nations, though the "Marrow-stuffed bones" and the "herd of dead flesh" look very appetizing to her. The ghouls are at the forefront of the nation's war against the rats of the Warrens of Thought, and that is what they are allowed to sustain themselves on.
Hers is an uneasy truce with the skeletons and zombies in the area.
