"This blade appears to have special religious significance for Dak'kon. [He] has wound a series of parchments around the hilt of the blade [that] appear to be mantras dedicated to Zerthimon."

Dak'kon's Zerth Blade is an edged weapon in Planescape: Torment. Its use is restricted to Dak'kon. It cannot be unequipped or removed from his inventory.

Lore[]

The weapon is a karach blade. "Karach" roughly translates to "chaos matter." It is a special substance that is shaped by its user's will.

This type of blade is significant to the githerzai people. Those who know the words of Zerthimon are zerth. They are fit to carry the blades, though it is only trusted to those who are most capable and possess immense self-discipline.

Stats[]

Aside from its weight – which remains constant at 5 – the stats for Dak'kon's blade change based on his morale and fighter level (which is separate from his mage level).

Note: some of the information specifically regarding levels may be be inaccurate.

Streaming Blade[]

This version of the blade is equipped when Dak'kon's morale is high. Achieving a high morale requires showing Dak'kon he is valued: asking him for his opinion, not forcing him to act or speak against his *will*, avoiding dialogue options that turn his sword black, and telling him you wish to free him from his indebted-slavery all increase his morale. It is necessary to invest time into learning the Unbroken Circle of Zerthimon. This blade works well for mages because of its spell-memorization effects.
