Modron

Modrons are mechanical creatures from the highly logical plane of Mechanus, where law and order are predominant.

Physical appearance[]

Modrons are mechanical looking creatures, their bodies forming geometrical shapes, and possessing humanoid limbs. Some variants have wings.

Society[]

The modrons function in a highly regimented society, a carefully organized hierarchy, and possess a hive mind. They have no sense of self or individuality, no ambition, no emotion and exist for the sole purpose of carrying out the commands of their superiors.

Their caste system is so complete as to not be able to understand or even acknowledge the existence of castes not immediately adjacent to theirs.

Rogue modrons[]

All modrons hold some of the Source of Mechanus with them, and when a modron isn't working or disconnects from the hive mind (goes rogue), they only drain power from their home plane. Since rogue modrons are no longer productive members of society and needlessly weaken Mechanus, the other modrons find and take rogues back to Mechanus to be destroyed, so they can return to the Source, the only logical way for that wrong to be corrected.

Combat stats[]

In Planescape: Torment, Modrons are immune to paralysis and deal crushing damage. They drop a random tier 1 treasure when killed. Their stats are generally as follows:
